Various Artists- Insane Music For Insane People Vol. 13

Here’s part 13 of a rather infamous collection of European oddities, with some involvement from Alain Neffe of Bene Gesserit, featured here in various incarnations in the past. Of course, that band is featured here, as well as a handful of others, including the elusive Lelu/Lu’s (featured previously), a rare demo version of Bill Pritchard’s most well known track, and experimental collection Human Flesh. The A-side is more pop-oriented, while the B-side is a far more experimental affair. Though there are 25 volumes in this series, this seems to be the only one that was ever released on wax, while the remaining 24 volumes are on cassette. Why this one is on vinyl is anyone’s guess, so wIthout any further ado, let’s get to the tracklisting, complete with each band’s country of origin.

  1. sounds interesting..thanx!

  2. This is a very cool series. Not to miss!

  3. Ugh!

This all sounds amazing …except for one thing: Am I the only person to be currently experiencing the old 'curse of Zshare'? That is, the Zshare page just goes from 'download link' to the 'countdown page' and then back again, in a never-ending loop.

It was doing this about a year ago and it took them ages to fix it. It looks like it might be back!

In a way I hope I'm wrong and I'm the only one to experience this. But, on the other hand, I really want to get my dirty little vitual hands all over this crate of goodies you mention. I just may not be the only person to experience this, I fear.

Still, keep up the good work, BCR – your blog is one of my touchstones on the web.

    Cheers,
    evilC

    E,
can you point me to a post that loops? i just checked this particular one and it works just fine. if zshare goes down again on a full scale like it did last year, i'm definitely going with another service. however, let me know which posts are giving you trouble, so we can try to isolate the issue!

    thanks for the kind words!

  5. Hello Frankie,

    Thanks for replying.

Well, this post did (obviously!) but I first noticed it the other day, when linking to Zshare from someone else's blog. Then, when I went to follow the link to the End Of Data album earlier on, I noticed the same thing was happening.

It could just be me and it's related to some kind of cookies issue, but I don't know what or how. I'm interested to hear any possible reasons for it and will try any suggested cures.

It's doubly annoying since I wanted to upload a mix, the other day, to a filehosting site that incorporated a player and Zshare was the obvious choice. However, Divshare does the same, so I used that instead. (See my Myspace page for the mix, if interested.)

(P.S. – apologies for the confusion, Frankie, in referring to you as 'BCR' in my last comment! I'd just seen his name up there and was temporarily distracted. It was a heavy night, last night!)

i just checked the few you're questioning (this one, the end of data, etc.) and everything works fine and downloads the usual way here. hmmm. i would definitely try clearing out your cookies and starting fresh, that's my first and only suggestion at the moment. i wonder why it acts up for you and not for me? the internet is a strange and unexplainable place, i suppose. let me know if this works!

i used to use divshare, but i've found their download limits to be most excruciating. i'm in the process of updating all the old divshare links to make away for zshare. if zshare kicks the bucket again, i'm definitely going for sendspace.
