Industrie- H LP
One of my favorite tracks from the first Systems of Romance compilation is Industrie’s “Secret Affair”- a playful synth jam with solid female vocals. Imagine my delight when I came across a pristine copy of their lone LP. I just received it yesterday, and I’ve already ripped and uploaded it for you all today.
This particular LP is the Australian band’s only release, hailing from 1983. While a handful of people contributed to the recording, only two appear in the photo on the back of the LP, so I reckon there were studio musicians involved. Not sure if the band ever performed live, so if anyone has any more info, please pass it along!
As for the LP, you can expect more of the same catchy new wave jams here, with only a few slower, less-interesting ballads. Everything else is pure new wave/synthpop heaven (for fans of Moev, early Berlin, etc.), so without any further ado, here’s the information:

Can anyone understand why Anne Fish didn't pursue her career further after this album??
I can't.
A voice clear as the blue sky when there are no clouds.
From the top of my head, I could name you 20 underground female new wave vocalists of bands where the chick actually could not really carry a tune and where said band released *MORE* than one album.
It's really sad that the real talented ones always disappear into the void after one LP…
Well, so should anyone come across this post and know what Anne Fish did musically after the release of "H", please let me know.

I can tell you a little bit about this band. Peter Weckardt, who went to the ANU school music in Canberra, put it together over the summer holidays, and they all trooped up to Sydney to stay with their aunties and grandparents (rock & roll!) and record the lp. Peter had written the songs and organised the finance … he was an impressive guy. Anne Fish was studying at the school of music, and Elmo Reed played bass with The Gadflies, a popular local band. Wayne aka Wam, the drummer, also played with a local band. Simon Taylor was a law student and played guitar.. Brock, who played the searing lead with all the feedback, was a session muso from Sydney. Anne later changed her surname to Fisch with a ‘c’ and had a classical career. I saw her sing the mezzo in Mozarts Cm mass in Sydney in the 1990s… wonderful voice. Elmo used to be on tv in Oz with the Gadflies on a comedy show I think. Simon got a day job. Wam probably went on with music but Im not sure. Sadly, Peter died in a car accident. But, Annes brilliant voice was heard by many and I hope she is still going with that. Vale Peter.
