Today&#8217;s post features <i>The Elephant Table Album: A Compilation of Difficult Music<\/i>, a 2 vinyl collection comprising the best in budding experimental\/industrial music. It was originally released on record in 1983, but lost a few tracks when it was re-released on disc in 1989. However, I&#8217;ve collected all the missing tracks and have included them in their proper placement. Muslimgauze- Melena Jesenska<br \/>\n10. David Jackman- Edge Of Nothing<\/p>\n<p>Disc 2:<br \/>\n1. SPK- Despair<br \/>\n2. MFH- Vox Humana<br \/>\n3. Nocturnal Emissions- Suffering Stinks<br \/>\n4. Attrition- Dream Sleep<br \/>\n5. Legendary Pink Dots- Suprise Suprise<br \/>\n6. Paul Kelday- Birth Of Planetesimals (Extract)<br \/>\n7. Bourbonese Qualk- Under The City<br \/>\n8. Sirius B- Build Your Children<br \/>\n9. New 7th Music- New Humanity Switchboard (Extract)<br \/>\n10. We Be Echo- Alleycat<br \/>\n11. Bushido- Modelwerk<\/p>\n<p>~<a href=\"http:\/\/portion-control.net\/\"><strong>Portion Control<\/strong><\/a>: a British experimental outfit formed in 1979, active to this day. Name checked graciously by the likes of Skinny Puppy and Depeche Mode.<br \/>\n~<a href=\"http:\/\/www.chrisandcosey.com\/\"><strong>Chris + Cosey<\/strong><\/a>: Throbbing Gristle offshoot of members Cosey Fanni Tutti and Chris Carter. A little more electro\/palatable compared to their previous work.<br \/>\n~<strong>Metamorphosis<\/strong>: Short lived experimental group from the UK.<br \/>\n~<a href=\"http:\/\/brainwashed.com\/coil\/\"><strong>Coil<\/strong><\/a>: Another post-Throbbing Gristle outlet featuring Peter Chrisopherson and John Balance. Ended in 2004 with John Balance&#8217;s accidental death.<br \/>\n~<a href=\"http:\/\/www.brainwashed.com\/nww\"><strong>Nurse With Wound<\/strong><\/a>: Currently active and extremely prolific British experimental act, brainchild of Steven Stapleton.<br \/>\n~<b>400 Blows<\/b>: A more funk oriented industrial project formed in 1981.<br \/>\n~<a href=\"http:\/\/www.klanggalerie.com\/konsort\/\"><strong>Konstruktivits<\/strong><\/a>: Kraut-rock inspired industrial, formed in 1982 and reactivated in 2006.<br \/>\n~<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lustmord.com\/\"><strong>Lustmord<\/strong><\/a>: Drone\/dark ambient artist, got his start working with like minded-industrial outfit SPK. (see below). Recorded throughout the 1980s.<br \/>\n~<a href=\"http:\/\/www.muslimgauze.org\/\"><strong>Muslimgauze<\/strong><\/a>: Politically driven Manchester-based drone\/noise artist. Still active + very prolific.<br \/>\n~<a href=\"http:\/\/www.chronoglide.com\/organum.html\"><strong>David Jackman<\/strong><\/a>: Elusive visual artist and otherwise soundscape composer.<\/p>\n<p>~<a href=\"http:\/\/home.scarlet.be\/%7Espk\/\"><strong>SPK<\/strong><\/a>: Industrial project formed in Sydney, Australia in the late seventies. Experimented with both industrial soundscapes and synthpop. Member Graeme Revell is now involved in film scoring.<br \/>\n~<b>MFH<\/b>: Short-lived 2 piece industrial collective, changed name to Pump in the late eighties. Check out a post on <a href=\"http:\/\/phoenixhairpins.blogspot.com\/2006\/11\/pump.html\">Phoenix Hairpins<\/a> to nab a Pump record.<br \/>\n~<a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/nocturnalemissionsofficial\"><strong>Nocturnal Emissions<\/strong><\/a>: Guerilla style sound\/art project still active to this date.<br \/>\n~<a href=\"http:\/\/www.attrition.co.uk\/\"><strong>Attrition<\/strong><\/a>: English industrial\/dance act, formed in the early 80s. Still active to this date under Projekt Records.<br \/>\n~<a href=\"http:\/\/www.brainwashed.com\/lpd\/\"><strong>Legendary Pink Dots<\/strong><\/a>: Influential experimental\/psychedelic art project still sporadically active. Edward Ka-Spel is also involved in the Tear Garden with Skinny Puppy member cEvin Key.<br \/>\n~<b>Paul Kelday<\/b>: Brother of Phil Kelday, member of New 7th Music (see below).<br \/>\n~<a href=\"http:\/\/bourbonesequalk.net\/\"><strong>Bourbonese Qualk<\/strong><\/a>: Formed in 1979, split in 2002, this British industrial act was infamous for vandalism in their earlier days.<br \/>\n~<b>Sirius B<\/b>: Short-lived British outfit. Several bands share this name to this date, which makes tracking down proper information a bit tricky.<br \/>\n~<b>New 7th Music<\/b>: Spontaneous collective keen on improvisation. Most of its members weren&#8217;t musicians at all.<br \/>\n~<a href=\"http:\/\/www.webeecho.worldhelix.com\/\"><strong>We Be Echo<\/strong><\/a>: One man experimental project with only one release in 1983. Born out of equally short lived project Third Door From the Left.<br \/>\n~<b>Bushido<\/b>: Formed and folded in the mid-eighties. One man project. Took their name from a Japanese code of honor.
