{"id":1474,"date":"2012-08-14T22:48:16","date_gmt":"2012-08-14T22:48:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.systemsofromance.com\/blog\/?p=1474"},"modified":"2017-08-08T18:50:53","modified_gmt":"2017-08-08T18:50:53","slug":"branches-distance-cd","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.systemsofromance.com\/blog\/2012\/08\/branches-distance-cd\/","title":{"rendered":"Branches- Distance CD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here&#8217;s a more modern release, generously donated by Jason.\u00a0\u00a0 While I generally shy away from sharing material from the 2000s, this CD is both tremendous and so incredibly under the radar that it deserves to be heard en masse.<\/p>\n<p>This CD harkens back to a time when there was a lot of new talent to be found, but no scene to attach itself\u00a0to.\u00a0 These days, darkwave\/synth\/goth music is much more in sync with current underground taste, with\u00a0dozens of\u00a0new bands and labels flourishing, deservedly so.\u00a0 Meanwhile, many of the bands from the early-to-mid 2000s remain completely\u00a0undiscovered,\u00a0as the timing just wasn&#8217;t right, apparently.\u00a0\u00a0Bands like Moldig, Black Ice, Bell Hollow, The Opposite Sex, The Floor, Sixteens, The Hunt, etc.\u00a0were all tremendous modern forces flirting with a fresh new takes on post-punk\/darkwave music, but remained criminally under-the-radar, outside of the select few involved with or highly interested in this style.<\/p>\n<p>Branches certainly qualify as one of these lost gems, as this album was self-released in 2006.\u00a0 The four piece band is Italian and this is their only release, which is rather difficult to find these days.\u00a0 My favorite track is the dancefloor ready &#8220;My Time Is Falling Out&#8221; but there&#8217;s enough contrast between the club-ready hits and the gloomier side of the spectrum to make this a solid album all the way through.\u00a0 I\u00a0truly love every track and think you guys will as well.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.systemsofromance.com\/blog\/2012\/08\/branches-distance-cd\/branches\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3149\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3149\" src=\"http:\/\/www.systemsofromance.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/branches-298x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"298\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.systemsofromance.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/branches-298x300.jpg 298w, https:\/\/www.systemsofromance.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/branches-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.systemsofromance.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/branches.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 298px) 100vw, 298px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Branches- <em>Distance<\/em> CD<br \/>\n1.
