{"id":1857,"date":"2013-05-21T01:02:27","date_gmt":"2013-05-21T01:02:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.systemsofromance.com\/blog\/?p=1857"},"modified":"2024-02-14T20:34:55","modified_gmt":"2024-02-14T20:34:55","slug":"luxus-bent-to-scale-smiling-daughters-7","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.systemsofromance.com\/blog\/2013\/05\/luxus-bent-to-scale-smiling-daughters-7\/","title":{"rendered":"Luxus- Smiling Daughters 7&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Here&#8217;s a 7&#8221; recommended highly by a few collectors out there.\u00a0 This one hails from 1982 and features a dirgey, drum heavy minimal synth sound very similar to Pink Industry (with vocals that sound like a pitched down\/drugged out Bowie or John Foxx) on the a-side.\u00a0 The B-side is a little more new wave-y by definition, but still a great listen.\u00a0 Fans of Fallout Club may like this one as well.<\/p>\n<p>This is the band&#8217;s second single on Stork Records.\u00a0\u00a0 I only have the A-side of that at 128, but if someone has this one and can rip both sides, feel free to chime in! \u00a0<strong>EDIT:<\/strong>\u00a0Soul brotha Nick over at Crispy Nuggets just exhumed the first 7&#8221;, so head on <a href=\"http:\/\/crispynuggets.blogspot.com\/2013\/12\/luxus-careers-and-futures-1981.html\">over there<\/a> to grab it.<\/p>\n<p>Chuck from the band chimed in recently and had this to say about this excellent slice of synth goodness:<\/p>\n<p><em>Recorded in a basement on a Dokordor Open Reel 4 track on the east side of Cleveland, Ohio. I know this because I played bass, some keys, and audio manipulations.
