{"id":2158,"date":"2013-11-18T18:22:09","date_gmt":"2013-11-18T18:22:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.systemsofromance.com\/blog\/?p=2158"},"modified":"2024-02-14T20:25:13","modified_gmt":"2024-02-14T20:25:13","slug":"bloody-ice-bloody-ice-12","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.systemsofromance.com\/blog\/2013\/11\/bloody-ice-bloody-ice-12\/","title":{"rendered":"Bloody Ice- Bloody Ice 12&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Second post in one day, this one as a request from Goutroy over at <a href=\"http:\/\/goutroy.blogspot.com\/\">A Viable Commercial<\/a>, who featured one track off this scarce 12&#8221; on his latest <a href=\"http:\/\/goutroy.blogspot.com\/2013\/10\/commercial-music-volume-4.html\">various artists<\/a> compilation. \u00a0The song &#8220;Dying in Arms&#8221; was my favorite from the compilation, and I&#8217;ve since tracked down the full 12&#8221;, which employs the same bleak industrial\/ebm sounds throughout. \u00a0If you like Front Line Assembly and the Klinik, this one is definitely for you&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Bloody Ice was the moniker for German musician Eini, who co-founded Placebo Records in 1993 to release his own recordings. \u00a0The label is also responsible for the amazing <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Clmd2etDLAQ\">New Dimension<\/a> 12&#8221; (which has since disappeared from the blogosphere). \u00a0This appears to be the only Bloody Ice release, though &#8220;Dying in Arms&#8221; also appears on the Nyctalopia Compilation from the same year and an &#8220;Intro&#8221; track appears on <em>To Be Stun<\/em>, a CD compilation. \u00a0Eini was also involved with Kabelbrandt, who were even less prolific. \u00a0You can find a track of theirs on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.systemsofromance.com\/blog\/2010\/03\/various-artists-strange-sounds-vol-1-2-lp\/\">Strange Sounds Vol. 2<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>According to a website run by Eini, The Bloody Ice tracks were recorded in a span of two years before being released in 1993. \u00a0At this point in time, vinyl was on the decline, and with only 300 copies pressed, this one is hard to come by. \u00a0The LP was released on Blood Red vinyl (naturally), and both sides of this 12&#8221; have different playback aspects, depending on where you drop the needle. \u00a0Side A only has the first two songs back to back, and you can only listen to the &#8220;Senses in Crossfire&#8221; and &#8220;French Girl&#8221; by placing the needle elsewhere. \u00a0 Meanwhile, Side B is a double groove, so there&#8217;s a 50\/50 chance of hearing either &#8220;Dying In Arms&#8221; or &#8220;Firehouse.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The question here is, &#8220;do you feel lucky&#8230;?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.systemsofromance.com\/blog\/2013\/11\/bloody-ice-bloody-ice-12\/bloodyice\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-3029\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3029\" src=\"http:\/\/www.systemsofromance.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/bloodyice-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.systemsofromance.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/bloodyice-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.systemsofromance.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/bloodyice-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.systemsofromance.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/bloodyice.jpg 598w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Bloody Ice-\u00a0<em>Bloody Ice<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em>12&#8221;<br \/>\n1.
