Paranoja- Proibito 7”

Unfortunately, our Halloween eve’s plans have been dashed by a case of the plague, so instead, I’ve been spending the day uploading a slew of rare releases to include over the next few days. For those reading along on this otherwise glorious Sunday, expect a few treats coming your way.

First up, we have a rare (and rather expensive) Italian 7” from Paranoja, released in 1986. The band hailed from Benevento, in the Southern region of the country. Some nice dreamy, mid-tempo post-punk grooves contained within. Pleasant and bouncy in places, with gloomy vocals and atmospheric synths to keep the track grounded. Definitely a treat for those obsessed with the Italian tradition!

There are two loose compilation tracks from this band, but I have yet to track them down (hint hint <3). Otherwise, I wish there was more to be said about this band, but we’ll let the music do the talking. Enjoy!

I'm sorry to hear you have the plague and your Halloween has been postponed. I had this problem too over the weekend, but I have decided that the whole of November will be 'italo-horror' (with a lot of new wave synth too) themed. Thanks for all these great posts and all your hard work.

  3. Great band, thanks! I wonder if there were any other recordings made by them??

  4. Only realease, from Naples. G.
